If you’ve been watching FX Canada lately, you may have already seen this totally not awkward commercial from old-school UFC champ Carlos Newton — yes, THE Carlos Newton — who would love to hook you up with some home financing from MMAmortgages.com (“your Mixed Mortgage Associates”).  Or maybe you’d prefer to deal with his partner Wojtek Kaszowski, who’s somehow a “former 3-time North American MMA champ” despite having an official pro record of 0-7… yeah, read the fine print before you sign anything.

For such a gimmicky angle, they really dropped the ball in the slogan department.  I’m thinking something like: “Don’t tap out to high interest rates!”  Or maybe: “We’ll submit the banks for you!”  Or how bout: “Our early payout penalties are a knockout!“  On second thought, maybe that last one sends the wrong message.
