60% of UFC Montreal tickets already sold (to assholes)

There’s only one thing to say after hearing that 13,000 of the 21,000 tickets to UFC 83 in Montreal were scooped up by UFC Fight Club members: You motherfucking scalpers. You whores. I fucking hate your cocksucking guts. And I’m going to make it my personal mission to kick your faces in if I see you scalping tickets to the Montreal event.

Dana White’s got a post-coital glow going about these big numbers. Not only did he probably just make a cool quarter million from Canadians buying UFC Fight Club membership, but now he gets to act like a huge chunk of these fucking tickets aren’t going to end up on Ebay. Well, let’s wait and see. My bet is there’s gonna be more scalping going on than for that stupid Hannah Montana shit (for those keeping count, that’s 2 Hannah Montana references in one week. Boo-yah! Daz how we rollz).

I fucking hate scalpers. Fucking hate them. And I hate the entertainment industry for being too dumb to figure out a way to stop them that doesn’t involve making the real fans jump through 1001 hoops to get their tickets. This Fight Club shit is a perfect example. Society has just hit a point where people are just barely too smart for their own good – they get the idea of supply and demand. So you’ve probably got a good 1000+ Fight Club members living in California who are planning on doubling their money off scalped UFC83 tickets. And to them I say again: Fuck you, you fucking fucks.

    You’re a Fight Club member, aren’t you.

  • jd

yeah, I was looking at ebay and saw a retarded amount of tickets up for sale for this event, and a lot of the sellers were from California. So I suppose they already had the Fight Club membership.

  • jd

Which sucks and they are totally taking advantage of real fans.

  • Kris

Damn, I should have taken my quota and resold them then.

Get your tix yet Ryan, it’s official I’ll be there now.

  • RoB

god dam am i the only californian not smart enough to rip off some canucks?

  • ACanadianPotHead

    Deal with it.

  • ACanadianPotHead

I agree though, if anyone is scalping their tickets, arm bars should be applied. I got a fight club membership cause I dont have any other venues to get tickets living in New Brunswick.

  • Erin

Now, I’m a big geek when it comes to MMA but for fuck’s sake, why would anyone spend $3,000 for two tickets? I guess there must be some precedent for the scalpers to be charging that much, but I can think of much more memorable things to do with that kind of cash.

  • JoeRoganIsAnAss

There’s a special place in Dante’s Inferno for DanaunclefesterWhite.

  • dignan

I agree with the commentary about the scalpers, but why not talk about the some of the fights they announced?

The big one I can’t wait for is:

NATE “I SNORE WHEN I GET KO’ed” Quarry vs Kalib “Axe Gash” Starnes.

I despise both fighters, but can hope for a a dual one punch knock out that leaves them both snoring.

  • Xavier

Wow, that ebay feeding frenzy is ridiculous. Amazing.

  • fightfan

I hat ethe idea of non UFC fans who have no intnetion of ever seeing a show buying up tickets and selling them on Ebay, but WTF can you do.

I hate to spoil things even further, but……Yeah 13,000 tix already sold. That is around 60% of tickets, but it is ABOUT 80% PLUS OF THE TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR SALE. a few thousand are already taken up, for UFC familes, personnel, etc, etc…

Dana White said that there are only a few thousand tickets left for sale. So, there are not 8,000 left, more like 4 or 5000. and they will probably go very quickly

  • Gavin

I knew I had to buy a membership to avoid this. I’m not scalping my tix though.

  • pf

me and my friends are trekking up there for this event but now i’m starting to wonder if we’re just going to end up in city without tickets. fuck scalpers.

  • OneHotMinute

Anybody know how many tickets will be available during the newsletter presale tomorrow?

  • Kris

According to what I’m reading and the fact that ticketmaster is showing no more tickets I think it is already sold out.

  • fightlinker

Ticketmaster shouldn’t be selling tix till the 6th anyways.

  • fightlinker

    From the newsletter peeps:

this email was just received by friend from Zuffa:

The UFC 83 event will not have a newsletter presale. Tickets go on-sale on February 8th at Noon ET.

ya, prices are ridiculous…and i called ticketmaster last night n they told me they are sold out of them already =S…so if u haven’t got ur tickets i guess u’ll have to spend a couple of hundreds if not thousands to get them..that’s not to mention waiting around on ur computer to see if u have the highest bid…

    good luck ;)

  • Jason

The ticket sales for MTRL turned in to a forseeable scam. Had UFC done the right thing, that is limit fightclub sales (say 5000 ticks), then limit box office sales (say 1000 ticks), then limit newsletter presales (say another 5000 ticks) then and only then would hte general public have had an opportunity to purchase tickets. A lot of people didn’t notice that Mr. White’s Friday news/PR release came out at 11am EST and heralded that tickets that went on sale at noon EST were gone in a minute or two. Really they’re were no tickets left to sell. Scalpers are having a field day and UFC has two black eyes for not serving it’s fanbase with respect, think U2 who sell a limited number of tickets through presale to fanclub members. And now this sellout will set a deadly precedent for Montreal and all of Canada. Watch for ridiculous UFC face value ticket prices in the future and even more scalpers scrambling to purchase tickets early competing with true fans for tickets.
