Germaine de Randamie made a statement Saturday night, claiming the UFC female featherweight championship with a decision win over Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 208.

The division was created after success from the bantamweights and strawweights in the promotion.

De Randamie, a former kickboxing and Muay Thai standout, earned her third consecutive win and improved to 7-3 overall. Holm, who held the UFC bantamweight title before dropping it to Miesha Tate, is now 10-3 and has lost her last three.

Middleweight contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza put an end to the run of decisions, securing a kimura finish vs. Tim Boetsch in the first round. Souza has won 17 fights via submission and is 9-1 over his last 10, with the lone defeat being via split decision to Yoel Romero.
