Anderson Silva throws GSP under the bus

Shocker of shockers, Anderson Silva reveals that Georges St Pierre was the one who nixed a superfight between the two top pound for pound fighters.

“St. Pierre had his chance to pronounce himself fighting me and he chose not to do it. [So] that’s what he chose to say.”

These comments were made on yesterday’s UFC 162 media call and come from a champ who seems somewhat bored with things and kinda resigned to the fact that those superfights ain’t gonna materialize any time soon.

“I think what’s most important is to set good examples for those kids who watch UFC and the kids that are coming up,” he said. “And whatever I should have done in the sport, I’ve already done. Win or lose, I’ve already done everything there is to do. Now it’s just a matter of doing what I love to do.”

How long til what Anderson loves to do is spend his big piles of money, eat big juicy steaks, and relax knowing his Greatest of All Time status will forever be safe because GSP and Jon Jones ducked him?

GSP is a pussy. He’ll be forgotten pretty quickly because of his lack of desire to be the best.

    He just wants to coast.

Yeah, I don’t know about that. GSP will be remembered for an extremely long time as one of the greatest welterweight champions of all time, along with Matt Hughes (whether people like it or not), but he will never be remembered as the greatest P4P fighter because that honour falls to Anderson. If you don’t beat Anderson (particularly if you’re not a LHW or HW), you’re not the man.

To say GSP has a “lack of desire to be the best” is a breathtaking and hugely erroneous statement. He is clearly the best welterweight on the planet at the moment, by some distance, although Jimi Hendrix might have something to say about that in due course.

Jimi Hendrix will never again have “something to say” but Johny Hendricks just might. :D
