“Anderson wants big fights”

Dana White pours cold water all over our hot and sexy Anderson Silva / Fox fantasies:

“I saw that rumor,” admitted White. “I was cruising around on the internet and saw that. It’s not true. If he goes out and wins in thirteen seconds, he’s not considered for the FOX show.”

On the plus side, the UFC sounds like they’ve got big plans for the Brazilian striker. More Dana white, this time via MMA Junkie:

“Anderson wants big fights, and he doesn’t know how much longer he’s going to fight,” White said. “But he wants big fights. He wants fights that are going to mean something.”

So are UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and light-heavyweight titleholder Jon Jones – who both recently dominated the Silva rumor mill as potential opponents – still possibilities?

“Those are a couple that would mean something,” he said.

But only one of those fights would sell out a 100,000 person soccer stadium. Dare we start to dream that we may finally get the superfight we’ve all been waiting ever so patiently for?

  • DJ ThunderElbows

He says he wouldn’t ever fight Jones, and GSP is afraid of losing to anyone.  I could see a Rampage fight though.  Would he even fight Shogun?

“Dare we start to dream that we may finally get the superfight we’ve all been waiting ever so patiently for?”

    Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. No.

  • KeyboardWarrior

Seeing as wrestling is GSP and Okami’s only hope, I can’t see Silva being held down for a whole five rounds from either of them. Sonnens bigger than GSP and a better wrestler than both. GSP vs Silva doesn’t do it for me. Bones vs Silva on the other hand.

  • Billytk

I have NO interest in the GSP vs Anderson fight the size difference is just way too much. I’d LOVE to see Siva vs Jones but Anderson already stated he’s afraid of Jon

  • KeyboardWarrior

True, but he does act/is pretty modest so who knows what will happen if Dana offers him the right amount.

  • Billytk

Silva is terrified of losing hell the guy wouldn’t even take a rematch against Henderson who he beat because Hendo won the first round and Silva was afraid Dan wouldn’t screw up and abandon what worked for him in the 1st if he got a rematch

  • KeyboardWarrior

Even if that were true, Silva will destroy Hendo if they end up fighting.

  • Letibleu

Wow billy you Silva told you all this? Can I have his autograph next time you see him?

  • CAP

Whatever just because Dana says the fight is not in the works doesn’t mean he’s telling the truth. Why was Lorenzo saying “Anderson just needs a win.”

Bring on Hendo. The only other “big fights” are outside his weight class.

Jones has work to do at LHW before talking about fighting Silva. I drool over that match up too but Bones hasn’t even defended his belt once yet ffs.

But i thought jon jones got jesus to suck his dick? did this not happen?
