“I saw that rumor,” admitted White. “I was cruising around on the internet and saw that. It’s not true. If he goes out and wins in thirteen seconds, he’s not considered for the FOX show.”
On the plus side, the UFC sounds like they’ve got big plans for the Brazilian striker. More Dana white, this time via MMA Junkie:
“Anderson wants big fights, and he doesn’t know how much longer he’s going to fight,” White said. “But he wants big fights. He wants fights that are going to mean something.”
So are UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and light-heavyweight titleholder Jon Jones – who both recently dominated the Silva rumor mill as potential opponents – still possibilities?
“Those are a couple that would mean something,” he said.
But only one of those fights would sell out a 100,000 person soccer stadium. Dare we start to dream that we may finally get the superfight we’ve all been waiting ever so patiently for?
