Are things getting petty between the UFC and Nick Diaz?

nickface

Last week Dana White seemed to pick a fight with Nick Diaz, declaring during a post fight media scrum that Diaz was skipping interviews and ducking the UFC’s Countdown film crew. That prompted Nick’s lawyer to send a letter to several media outlets denying the charges, which seems like a somewhat unusual response. Are the UFC and Nick Diaz getting along? Is there drama going on behind the scenes?

Who knows, but it certainly doesn’t seem like the UFC is bending over backwards to make Nick Diaz feel loved. A tweet (since deleted) from his coach Cesar Gracie read

Please tweet @danawhite to upgrade @nickdiaz209 flight to Montreal from economy to business class! Not too much to ask for…

And the response from interested parties:

“As long as he shows up, I don’t care,” St-Pierre told The Canadian Press on Wednesday. “By train, by horse. I don’t care. I want him to come to Montreal. We need to finish the business.”

It looks like Diaz may have to dig into his own pocket if he wants more leg room. Asked if his stance was that Diaz can afford to buy his own upgrade, White said “Exactly!” in a text to The Canadian Press.

Nice to know the UFC takes care of its headliners!

If he was a company man, he would have a private jet if he asked.

if its that big of a deal get trashed before the flight. then you don’t care about the lack of leg room.

I agree that he should have been in business class. Unfortunately, he IS one of the stars of the UFC.
