While Fedor and Alistair seem to be gone, baby, gone, things are less grim for the fate of Dan Henderson. Here’s Dana White after UFC 133:
“Dan Henderson is in the mix,” White told a small group of reporters following Saturday night’s UFC 133 event. “Me and old ugly got to get together and talk and figure stuff out first.
“I texted him. I said, ‘Hey, ugly. You ready to talk?’ He said, ‘Whenever you’re ready fatso.'”
“We’ll see what happens,” White said this past Thursday. “‘Hendo’ and I have had some history in dealings. We’ll see if we can figure something out and get him back in the UFC.”
There’s lotsa interesting fights for him – exciting battles at 205 against Lyoto Machida and Shogun Rua. Another ass whuppin from Anderson Silva or a rematch with Vitor Belfort. Hendo … so hot right now … Hendo.
The UFC has been on a bit of a skid where they haven’t been able to lock in deals with fighters we wanna see big matches from. Whether that’s because the fighters or the UFC are being unreasonable is up for debate, but it’s getting kinda old having Dana White go ‘Fuck these guys’ and us fans being left without these fights is starting to get a bit old. Especially in a year where big fights have been few and far between.
