Bowles out of WEC 52, search for replacement underway

Well, this sucks:

An undisclosed injury has forced former World Extreme Cagefighting bantamweight champion Brian Bowles (8-1 MMA, 5-1 WEC) out of his WEC 52 bout with Wagnney Fabiano (14-2 MMA, 4-1 WEC), and a search is underway for a replacement. ( today confirmed the card change with sources close to the event.

Seriously – someone explain to me why Junkie continues with the double link to the site you’re already on.  I’ll wait.

There is a silver lining here – after attending WEC 51 last week and watching Miguel Torres rebound, I was hankering for a Bowles/Torres rematch once Brian came back from injury.  This makes that more possible.  Fabiano, still trying to polish away the tarnish that Mackens Semerzier invertedly triangled onto his record, is now awaiting a late replacement.  Suggestions?

The link is so when people like us steal their content for quotes, they get more SEO boost out of it

I’ll just copy here what I wrote on your stupid facebook link (yeah, I just called your facebook thing stupid):

Miguel Torres. Sure, it’s a quick turnaround, but it’s also an opportunity to reestablish himself at the top of the BW contenders mountain and secure another title shot. If not, Fabiano would be a good return match for Benavidez.

Both guys …make sense from the WECs perspective because by matching Fabiano up with Bowles, they were indicating that they want him to fight one of the division’s top dogs. Torres and Benavidez both fit that bill.

I want Torres to beat Bowles.
