I’ve actually been quite surprised that the CSAC hasn’t applied the bureaucratic thumbscrews to Affliction the way they did with K-1 last summer. Props to Affliction for dotting all their I’s and crossing all the T’s on the application forms. But one thing we’ve learned over the past few years is that it ain’t a California show without the commission pulling SOMEONE off the card. This card’s victim just happens to be Aleksander Emelianenko:
According to Bill Douglas of the California State Athletic Commission, Emelianenko did not meet his licensing requirements.
Goes to show you that sometimes killing bears with an oversized knife and fork is easier than being cleared to fight.
Now do I even have to go on a cliche ‘angry Fightlinker’ tirade over this? I think we can all just agree that this is very upsetting / depressing and move on to mentally calculating if the card is still worth 40 bucks. I really really wanted to see Aleks fight. Sigh.
