Dan Miller’s kid can now afford that new kidney

Well this is a heartwarming story:

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) recently learned from Miller’s camp at AMA Fight Club that UFC co-owners Lorenzo Fertitta and Dana White each made significant private donations to the Daniel James Miller Foundation, which was created to assist in the funding of a kidney transplant for Miller’s son, Daniel Jr.

“Zuffa went above and beyond to make sure that Daniel James Miller and his aunt Kathy, who will be the living donor, will have the absolute best health care and the funding possible to make the surgery happen,” AMA trainer Mike Constantino told MMAjunkie.com. “In addition to that, Dana and Lorenzo also made a substantial donation to the Daniel James Miller Foundation.”

Miller’s 1-year-old son needs a kidney transplant as the result of a genetic kidney disorder known as polycystic kidney disease, or PKD. Miller’s team helped establish the foundation and recently held a seminar and auction to help raise money for the cause.

When we first heard about this operation, I had a few millionaires in mind that I was hoping were going to donate, but it just seems boorish to say Dana and the Fertittas should crack their wallets every time anything happens to any of their fighters. Fortunately they don’t need the shaming of a two bit snark blogger to do the right thing. Plus when you do dick moves like fire Miguel Torres over innocent rape van tweets, it’s always good to swing in the saint direction too.

This is great news. Nothing better in life than kids. I hope he gets better after his surgery.

Good on Zuffa brass. But fuck Tito and his back LOL!!

    Get well soon little guy.

And not to be a dick – but perhaps Mr. & Mrs. Dan Miller should think about possibly capping it at two kids. They both may have good genes separately, but mixed together they seem to create child poison. I am slightly concerned that a third Miller baby may just explode entirely during birth.

Adoption is always a nice option?

Dana will have to suffer without gambling for one night, but it’s worth it.  Bravo!

MMadam–>I say the same thing about fat persons & gingers.

MMAdam – Dan and his wife have three children, and their third child was born and remains completely healthy and, if anything, is developing ahead of what you’d expect from a baby. PKD can appear as a random mutation without the parents carrying the genes, and their first daughter passed by unrelated complications at birth. They simply were unfortunate to have to experience two different statistical improbabilities with their first two children. It’s the kind of thing which seems like can’t possibly be a coincidence when looked at as the singular view of just their family, but the unfortunate truth is when you look at how many families there are, some of them will suffer incredible misfortune twice.

Ok then how bout they finally learn a fucking life lesson and get good health coverage for their children from now on and BEFORE they have another huhm?

Who am I kiddin, they learned a lesson alright. When fucked up chit happens to you and you didn’t smartly properly prepare, others will bail you out.

now that the baby is good to go, I can finally say that it’s an ugly baby and it has stupidly big ugly cheeks wtf. his eyes are so far apart from each other omg! and instead of his shirt saying “daddy’s lil firecracker” it should be “daddy’s big pain in the ass.”

finally. waited like 2 months to let that all out. don’t know how much more of this i could have taken.
