Dana on damage control

Dana White looked like he was fighting off a brutal hangover when he went on ESPN sunday to discuss the EliteXC on CBS show. He’s always really good at taking any given subject and spitting out a really tight talking point, but I think he’s going to have a little more trouble explaining why EliteXC is so bad while the UFC is somehow good. To the average guy tuning into ESPN, I don’t even think he did a good job making it clear that his company wasn’t involved in Saturday’s show.

LOL at Dana’s last comment. XD

Yeah, the guy on the telephone got owned.

Is Dana sponsored by CBGBs or something? Does he own it? Change your fucking tshirt.

I am still scratching my head why ESPN asked the UFC President to comment on (and presumably defend) the EliteXC show…and why Dana White even accepted the offer. Did EliteXC representatives turn down the interview?? If so, they were foolish to do so. Dana understandably had a hard time defending the concept of airing MMA on free TV while not appearing to be supportive of the EliteXC production. He tried to take a couple of jabs at EliteXC but got off point and had to be reigned by the ESPN host. They should have asked Burwell if he hates boxing too.

Dana loves hearing the sound of his own voice, so I’m sure he’d take an interview on C-SPAN at 2 am if they asked.

Plus (and I’m sure a tv station knows better) most people who don’t follow MMA think everything featuring fighting is the UFC and thought the EXC show was a UFC show.
