So it looks like Randy’s latest movie won’t be making it onto the big screen:
“The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior,” which stars UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture in the title role, will not be receiving a widespread theatrical release in movie theaters. Instead, the film will be released nationally by Universal Studios Home Entertainment on DVD on Aug. 19. The DVD will be available in both Hi-Def and Blu-ray.
Of course, do you really want to see a movie where the role originally played by The Rock has now been given to a Power Ranger?
In August 2007, it was reported that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will not play the lead role, but instead the film will feature Michael Copon (Power Rangers Time Force) as the young Mathayus. Canadian actress/singer Karen David appears as the lead heroine, Layla. Randy Couture appears in the movie as the lead villain, Sargon.
