Faber/Mizugaki targeted for August WEC event

The brutality begins around 1:30 – it got significantly worse over time.

MMA Weekly does the impossible and scoops Fightlinker:

Urijah Faber will now officially be a problem for the bantamweight division.

The former WEC featherweight champion will make the move down to 135lbs for his next fight on August 18 as he faces Japanese fighter Takeya Mizugaki in the WEC.

Mizugaki has gone 2-1 since debuting with a FOTY candidate against Miguel Torres, back when Miguel Torres was the greatest thing since birth control, beating everyone’s favorite False BJJ Prophet (war Bibiano), Rani Yahya, at WEC 48 in April. Faber at 135 will be interesting – will Faber be the biggest guy there? His teammate, Joseph Benavidez, is already there, and looks like a stud – he’s 12-1 with a submission win over Torres in March and a lone loss to current champ Dominick Cruz. If they’re both successful, do we get another bullshit Fitch/Koscheck situation? Also, isn’t it sad that no one gives a shit enough to mention Mike Swick anymore when referencing teammates fighting each other?
