Fabricio Werdum continues to be hilariously out of the loop when it comes to anything regarding his career. First he was the last person to know that he was fired from the UFC and now he thinks he’s fighting Kimbo Slice for Strikeforce in May. You’d think after that initial epic truth fail, people wouldn’t be so quick to believe everything he says.
Anyways, if you were amongst the people thinking Werdum was talking out his ass, you get a cookie. Here’s Ariel Helwani gettin’ da scoop on what’s really up:
Ever since Strikeforce purchased 42 fighter contracts from cash-strapped Pro Elite, MMA fans have been anxiously awaiting news on the fighting futures of both Kimbo Slice and Gina Carano. Thus far, both have not officially signed with the San Jose-based promotion and, as far as Slice is concerned, there doesn’t seem to be a resolution in sight. “There have been no new developments yet,” Slice’s manager “Icey Mike” told Versus.com earlier today. Mike is also unsure if Slice will compete on Strikeforce’s card in May, despite what Fabricio Werdum would like for you to believe.
That sounds pretty definite, plus we already know that Strikeforce head honcho Scott Coker has a hard-on for the idea of Kimbo Slice vs Bob Sapp. Does Fabricio Werdum really sound like the second choice in this equation?
