With K-1 mired in financial and organizational issues, GLORY has jumped in to become the new top kickboxing organization in the world. And with their recent success in New York City and the announcement of a TV deal with Spike kicking off in the Fall, it seems like they’re going to make a go of bringing kickboxing back to the GLORY days of yore. Ugh, the puns. They burn.
Their next big event was just announced for September 28th at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California, which is just east of Los Angeles. Headlining is Sergei Kharitonov vs Jerome Le Banner and Robin Van Roosmalen vs Shemsi Beqiri, and there will be a one night four man Middleweight World Championship Tournament including Artem Levin, Stephen Wakeling, Joe Schilling, and Jason Wilnis.
The best part? Tickets start at 35 bucks. No word yet on if this will be the first show broadcast by Spike but timeline wise it makes sense. Big tings a gwan for kickboxing! Brap! Brap!!!
