Jeff Curran is no longer a WEC fighter. This news is kinda crappy because I guarantee that he was still better than a good 80% of the other guys in the promotion, but you just can’t go on a 0-4 losing streak in the WEC, even if two of those losses are to Mike Brown and Urijah Faber and the most recent was a shitty decision. At least he landed on his feet:
Curran on Tuesday confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that he has signed a two-fight, non-exclusive contract with Strikeforce. His first bout for the promotion will be on the preliminary card for the Nov. 7 “Fedor vs. Rogers” event in his backyard of Chicago.
Non-exclusive is the way to go for Curran … he’ll also be fighting at a December event put together by his own promotion company, and past that I’m sure there will be fights in Japan if he’s willing to deal with the jetlag. For a guy who seems like he’s fought for half the small to midsize promotion in America, he hasn’t done much over there.
