I told you so you fuckers. I called this shit. According to Ariel Helwani, MMA journalist and infamous panty sniffer, a fight between Nate Marquardt and Dan Henderson is being targeted for the main event slot at UFC 105 in Manchester, home of soccer hooligans and dentists with busy schedules (LOLZ!). From Fanhouse via Cage Potato:
FanHouse has learned that the UFC is looking to book a middleweight bout between Nate Marquardt and Dan Henderson for the Nov. 14 show at the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England. As of Thursday afternoon, though, official bout agreements had yet to be finalized.
The winner of this potential bout would likely receive another title shot against current middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Marquardt was last seen knocking out Demian Maia at UFC 102 in just 21 seconds, while Henderson defeated Michael Bisping via second-round knockout at UFC 100 in July.
I hate being right about as much as I hate whiskey, kittens, and skat porn (hint: I love all of those things). Judge me all you want, but it isn’t easy being this smart and this good looking.
But enough about me. This is absolutely outstanding news. This is a fight practically every fan wants to see and it’s a fight that will determine the true number one contender to Anderson Silva’s middleweight title while Silva is done rehabbing from elbow surgery or picking up randoms or “>impersonating Kimbo or faking elbow surgery or whatever the hell it is he’s been doing lately.
I know the fight isn’t set in stone and it’s still pretty early, but I’m picking the former King of Pancrase for a 2nd round TKO. I might even put some bank on it — that is, if I have any cash left over from the surf and turf I’m about to buy your mother in celebration of my awesome psychic abilities. Beleed dat.
