According to Kevin Iole, Tamdan McCrory and Thales Leites aren’t being dropped from the UFC after all. The organization has more talent than it can handle at this point. Roughly fifty or so contracts need to be dropped in order to supply fighters with a minimum of three fights a year. After this past weekend’s UFC 101 show, a handful of guys were released from the company, two of which were McCrory and Leites. Dana White says he was unaware of plans to drop the two fighters and would reverse the decisions.
At this point, “The Barn Cat” has not been notified of the decision and was already fielding offers from multiple organizations, including the Art of War promotion based out of China. Based on recent reports, it looks like McCrory’s next fight will take place in the middleweight division.
