Remember back in the day when there were only two or three Octagon Girls? Pepperidge Farm remembers. Now it seems like there’s a new girl being stuffed into those signature short shorts every other week. The whole thing started rather innocuously with occasional one-offs for chicks who had won this contest or that. Then a couple of foreign markets got their own girls, and that seemed kinda cool too.
But what was once a controlled trickle of new hotness being carefully served to parched and horny fans has turned into a deluge that threatens to drown us in an endless tsunami of random models. And now…
The UFC officially has two new octagon girls, and they’re familiar faces to anyone that watched Strikeforce. The two official ring girls from that organization, Chrissy Blair and Vanessa Hanson, will join a rapidly-growing list of ladies that work for the UFC. The two will begin work at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale in Las Vegas on April 13th. The news was confirmed by UFC officials recently.
Both ladies have actually worked as guest octagon girls in the past. Hanson won the TransWorld Surf UFC Model Search in 2011. She worked UFC 136 before moving over to Strikeforce. Blair did the same thing, working UFC 133 after winning the 2011 Miss TransWorld Motocross modeling search.
They join Arianny Celeste, Brittney Palmer, Rachelle Leah, Camila Oliveira, Aline Franzoi, Kahili Blundell, Kristie McKeon, Kang Ye-Bin, Jessica Cambensy, Su Jung Lee, and Azusa Nishigaki. Will they become regulars or go the way of other recently arrived and departeds like Chandella Powell, Logan Stanton, Lindsey Way, and Brittny Ward? Only time will tell, but it seems like the fighter roster isn’t the only one getting a bit bloated.
