Sakuraba and Marius Zaromskis have been added to the lineup for DREAM 12, fortunately not against eachother. Instead Zaromskis – who won the DREAM welterweight grand prix and belt by kicking everyone’s head off – will face DREAM newcomer Myeon Ho Bae in a match that continues FEG’s longstanding tradition of putting it’s champs in stupid pointless non-title fights. But (and this is probably why they keep getting away with it) I’m shamefully eager to see Zaromskis beat the dude up.
As for Sakuraba. he’ll be replacing Melvin Manhoef against Zelg Galesic which kinda sucks because i was hyped to see that matchup. Still, it’s nice to see the 40 year old Sakuraba against a legitimate fighter who isn’t liable to accidentally kill him en route to victory. How this fight ends depends completely on Saku, who fought like someone who’d rather be getting a colonoscopy in his last two serious fights. On a card where most of the other fights are lopsided squash matches, this one ain’t bad since it’ll provide a reasonable meterstick for where Sakuraba stands and if he can still hack it.
Here’s the rest of the card as it stands:
