Those hoping that the first title shot in UFC history by a British fighter would occur on UK soil, prepare to be disappointed:
The UFC president shied away from saying there was much of a chance of Hardy’s next fight, a title shot against raining welterweight king Georges St-Pierre, ending up in England. White believes the bout will take place in Las Vegas, but doesn’t know its timetable yet.
Hey, the UFC’s business model is still all about the pay per view buys and considering how few PPV draws Dana currently has that aren’t hospitalized or recovering from hospitalization, UK fans should just be happy the previously mentioned Hardy / Swick title shot didn’t magically evaporate once Hardy won. They might as well advertise this fight as GSP vs a live opponent for all the draw Hardy will add to things outside the UK.
