Ontario is getting worse

Everyone got pretty excited when Dana was in Toronto pimping GSP vs Penn 2 because he said he was gonna work his ass off to legalize MMA in Ontario. We pointed out that this wasn’t too likely since the guy running the Ontario Athletic Commission sucks more dick than your mom did back in high school. Not only are things NOT looking like they’re getting better … they’re getting worse.

Here’s an email we received regarding a Muay Thai event being canceled:

The Ministry of Health and Promotion suspended CAMTAO’s sanctioning status as of December 1, 2008 and therefore if we hold our event then it will be considered ‘illegal’ and we will be charged.     The Ministry seems more then intent on trying to force us all under the CASK umbrella, as they are closely aligned with the Government.   We have been fighting the government now for almost 13 years to have this sport legalized, which it was when it was recognized in 2003, but the battle will obviously continue.

I think that I can speak for all of us when I say that Muay Thai plays a huge part in our lives.   This is an injustice, and I truly believe that we have to fight this by every means at our disposal.   We need solidarity amongst all who are involved in Muay Thai in this province so that we can overcome this new hurdle.

The OAC have a long history of being douches when it comes to fightsports in the province. They’re amusingly pro-karate because OAC commissioner Ken Hayashi is a karate guy, and blatantly anti-everything else. Read more about that shit here. My only hope is that Hayashi gets caught with his hand in the vagina jar just like Armando Garcia. Since you can’t seem to get fired from the government for incompetence (too bad, since half of George W’s staff would be long gone by now), the only way to get rid of these people is via lame sex scandals involving overweight people.

The entire email is after the jump.

Subject: Fights Cancelled

Sawadee Krup Everyone,

It is with deep regret that I have to inform all of you that my show on December 14th has been cancelled.

If any of you have been selling tickets, please refund any monies paid – thank you.

I appreciate the time and effort that so many of you have given me over the past few weeks in order to try and make this show a success.   It is, as always, a group effort.

Sincerely,
