After Alistair Overeem declared his intent to fight on the UFC’s New Years Eve event, Lorenzo Fertitta came out and said “It’s in the NSAC’s hands. (The UFC) can’t be presumptuous.” I’d like to note that’s not a no. And Overeem is still talking about fighting in December:
“That’s my goal. I know that the UFC will not promote me on their card as long as I’m not licensed. That being said, we’re going to try to get licensed sooner and I’m confident that I will succeed,” said Overeem in his recent interview.
Considering the NSAC practically gave Alistair a rimjob after suspending him, shortening his sentence to 9 months specifically so he might consider returning to Nevada to make the state oodles of money, I’m feeling confident Al may succeed too.
