From the ‘Don’t you wish the Sun wasn’t consistently full of shit?’ department of MMA news:
UFC fighter Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has been cast as B.A. Baracus in the big screen remake of ‘The A-Team’ in 2010.
The UFC Light-Heavyweight title holder is set to play the role made famous by Mr. T in the classic 80s TV show.
The Sun have reported that Jackson landed the role after his charismatic auditions impressed the film’s bosses, seeing off the likes of 50 Cent, The Game, Tyrese Gibson and Ice Cube to land the role.
Liam Neeson has already signed on to play Col. John ‘Hannibal’ Smith, while ‘The Hangover’ star Bradley Cooper will play Lt. Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck, and the role of Murdock is yet to be cast as filming looks set to take place shortly.
Of course we have come to rely on the Sun for being completely unreliable. But this is simply too sweet of a bullshit story not to at least pass along. And I suppose there’s always the possibility that this isn’t the latest complete fabrication on the paper’s part. Jackson did go on some hokey late night show last year with a half grown fro-hawk saying he was going for the part. But that was before that whole schizoid break thingy, which was just another negative on the already giant pile of negatives like “Rampage isn’t an actor”, “No studio exec would approve this idea”, and “The Sun is pretty much never right.”
