You may have caught my last piece on Mousasi pulling out of DREAM with a shoulder injury suffered during a bullshit sparring session with Fedor at M-1: Breakthrough (don’t worry, you can still go back and leave a nice comment about my rapier wit) – this news left the Super Hulk semifinals down a man, with Minowa/HMC still set to battle but no opponent for Sokoudjou to assault after the fight is over. Well worry no more, folks, as DREAM has replaced Mousasi with the most obvious choice in the book:
Bob “The Beast” Sapp (16-5-1) will stand in for an injured Gegard Mousasi to face Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou in the semifinals of Dream’s Super Hulk Tournament Oct. 6 at Dream 11.
Sapp (16-5-1), who lost to Ikuhisa Minowa in the opening round of the tournament at Dream 9, confirmed the fight to MMAWeekly.com on Wednesday.
Bob goes on to say he has ‘no UFC dreams or desires’ (which makes sense, as those would require him losing 60+ pounds and gaining something known as ‘skillz’) and further hints that if he loses to Sok, he’ll end up fighting ‘a celebrity’ on the big NYE show. I sincerely hope that they don’t use an aspiring athlete like they did with the Kinnukuman debacle – maybe Jose Canseco can take a break from training with the fucking Power Rangers and man up. I’m sure Zordon would understand.
It also appears that THE DAY AFTER this fight, Sapp will fly to Hong Kong and get his ass kicked by &feature=PlayList&p=F26186C082CF2EDE&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=24″ target=”_blank”>this guy in kickboxing, which will be Bob’s first ass kicking in that particular sport since Peter Aerts finished him in less than 30 seconds back in 2007. As with all Sapp’s losses, it should be fun to watch.
