Semmy Schilt wants Fedor

After rolling through the K1 World Grand Prix on Saturday, Semmy Schilt isn’t looking to take a   vacation. In fact, it looks like he wants to be considered as an opponent for Fedor on NYE:

Sadaharu Tanikawa and Semy Schilt had an interview on Dec 09.   In the interview, Schilt showed his interest fighting Fedor.   Schilt won K-1 World GP 2007 on Dec 08.   Mr. Tanikawa said he would like to see him fighting in MMA rule.

Schilt and Fedor fought before, and it was a terrible boring decision win for the Russian. It was the first time I saw Fedor fight and I remember thinking “Man, this Fedor dude sucks!” It’s not exactly a fight that I’d want to see, but you can’t argue with the hype on paper: K1 WGP Champion vs PRIDE Champion. And it definately sounds better than Fedor vs Hong Man Choi, who sucked 7 feet worth of balls during the K1 tourney.

Agree that Choi’s performance was awful yesterday.

  • Teufel

Choi looked terrible yesterday. I’d rather see Fedor fight Schilt, although I’d prefer Fedor vs Barnett or even Fedor vs Fujita 2.

  • Jackie Chiles

First off, that belt is frickin awesome.
Second, Schilt/Fedor would be much more interesting than Fedor/Choi….its a sexy match up on paper and somewhat covers up the whole “Fedor doesn’t fight anyone argument”.
I agree though, Fedor/Barnett needs to happen badly for both those guys.

Is he trying to throw the a fucked up shocker there? What the fuck kind of gang sign shennanigans is that?

Fedor’d better fight someone so he can retain his standings, because the longer he sits out, the more likely someone else will step up their game and get moved up in the rankings. Dude should really come back with a fucking bang and just fight goddamn Barnett already.

    It’s a New Year’s Eve card.

In Japan, New Year’s Eve is the single biggest viewership day for television. Why do people endlessly think he will fight someone worth a damn on the card? It’s going to be an entertainment fight. Choi is definitely a possibility considering he’s GIGANTIC. That’s what Japanese want to see for the event. Schilt isn’t a bad choice, but he’d get beat as well. Barnett isn’t horrible since he has such a good following in Japan, but don’t get your hopes up for a fight that matters. The next M-1 event would have more possibility of having a legitimate fight for Fedor since it’s going to be in the States, where Godzilla vs. Mothra garners no ratings.

Unless Fedor fights a legitimate opponent, he is dead to me. I mean it. I used to carry his water (Oh, this guy is God’s gift to MMA, blah blah blah) but no more.

I think you guys are underestimating the threat of Schilt. I believe he is alot heavier than when they originally fhought…plus, he has won the WGP 3 years in a row! His striking has to have improved vastly. That being said, Fedor is a tactician first and foremost, and his strategy would be the same this time around. I think it comes down to Schilt’s takedown defense ….which has always been his biggest weakness and the reason why he left MMA.

“Is he trying to throw the a fucked up shocker there?”

    He’s throwing a 3… as in 3 K1 WGP Championships.

  • fightlinker

Yeah shocker is index and ring + pinky, not three in a row. Someone sitting next to Forrest threw the shocker during the TUF finale.

  • UFCPreview

2 in the poop, 1 in the shoot

  • GonzoDamon

2 in the pink, 1 in the stink (the hole that winks is the hole that stinks [many exceptions, however])

YES! I haven’t actually posted on here for a while. My first comment back HAD TO BE worthless/inane!

“Yeah shocker is index and ring + pinky, not three in a row.”

I know, that’s why I described it as fucked up. It looks like a shocker that failed. Can’t get that third finger in the pink very easy, at least not without dislocating something.

  • nem0

By pink, I mean stink. Note to self, don’t post stupid shit on blog comments without getting a good night’s sleep.

  • kentyman

    2 in the baby-hole, 1 in the maybe-hole.

  • dana white

aestheticly, the k-1 belt is asome.
