Stop Stealing Content from this site!

I’m now seeing several sites that are stealing content from FiveOuncesOfPain.com. These sites are copying and pasting entire entries on this blog and passing it off as their own with no author listed and no reference to FiveOuncesOfPain.com.If you’re one of these sites that are committing copyright infringement, it needs to stop and it needs to stop now. You might think you’re slick because you have disabled comments on your page and have no contact info available but I can find out how to get a hold of you. If it comes to that, chances are I will have my attorney contact you on my behalf and you can explain your actions to him.

If you want to use an excerpt of something that appears here and or post a link back, I’m more than okay with that. But I have no idea why people think they can steal content from this site and others and get away with it? I work too hard on this blog to stand by and watch other people steal my stuff and make money off of it when I currently don’t see a dime from this blog.

What sites are they? He should let people know so people can boycott the site.

It’s one of those things where you don’t want to even give them the exposure they want from that kind of behavior.

Here’s what I do, sam: I write such terrible shit that no one wants to steal it!

Plagiarizing an author’s plea not to plagiarize. Priceless.

I got a better one. Posting a story by replying to someone else’s blog. Would they be stealing it by leaving it up or am I just an idiot?

I also practice writing bad blogs so that I don’t get plagerized. Its the best strategy I can come up with or the best excuse.

I like your approach Fightlinker. In all seriousness have you had any problems with other sites stealing content or sending your trackback spam. I am running into more and more of it recently and wondered if other sites were getting hit as well.

By the way if anyone needs advice on at least limiting what the content scrapers can do send me a mail from the site and I can try to help people out if they need it.

Nope. Maybe 2 or three articles have appeared on RSS feeder farms, but that’s it. I wouldn’t really mind it if someone stole all my shit … perhaps if they did that, I’d be able to see how they made money off the site and steal their ideas ;-)

It only happens every now and then these days but a couple times a month we get trackback spammed out the ass…

    ROFL!

But at least there’s a link back to my site!

Just make sure you link to yourself in everypost and then they will automatically link to your site. The key is not letting their trackbacks through which is usually how they get almost all of their traffic. I like your idea on stealing their monetization strategy!

Only problem is these guys typically have 50 – 60 of these self populating blogs, which is how they make .40 cents * the number of blogs they have a day.

I’ll admit it – its me, I’m the guilty party. I pretty much steal everything I post. And pretty much everyone I steal from is present in this comment string. Apparently your content isn’t worth shit either b/c I’ve only made $25.67 from google adwords so far. And you call yourselves serious publishers. shame on you.
