10th Planet Jiu Jitsu founder and official UFC bug in the ear Eddie Bravo will no longer be whispering sweet jitz info to Goldberg and Rogan during events.
Bravo, who runs 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu from the Legends MMA gym in Los Angeles, and who has worked as a mainstay Octagonside with colour commentators Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg for many years, is understood by the Telegraph to have walked out on his Octaginside role with the world’s leading mixed martial arts organisation after a disagreement over his desire to corner for lightweight fighter George Sotiropoulos, of Australia. The dual role will have been seen as a conflict of interest.
Jeez, the UFC is acting like half their staff doesn’t fraternize and tailgate with their fighters at every event. So long as Bravo wasn’t cornering Sotiropoulos AND feeding the commentary team tidbits about how totally boss and wicked and radical George is at the exact same time, I don’t see any problems. It’s not like he’s vice president of a country and also a former exec and stockholder in the country’s largest military contractor or anything. Imagine if something CRAZY like that was allowed to happen!
Fortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any negative feelings about Bravo leaving the UFC’s traveling show. Eddie’s BFF Joe Rogan claimed the split was ‘amicable’ and Eddie’s now going to spend more time working on his gyms, his fighters, and inventing new moves with stupid names.
