The CSAC is officially fucking with K1

You know things are getting crazy when the replacements for the replacements are getting replaced. The latest casualty of the CSAC’s in-your-face approach to fighter sanctioning is Gabe ‘Cake’ Ruediger, who was denied for one of the most fucked up reasons in the history of the universe (approximately 6000 years according to The Book, may those who deny it burn in hellfire):

No official reason has been given, but word is that the head of CSAC, Armando Garcia, saw a tape of TUF 5 and deemed Ruediger mentally unfit to fight after he determined that he had a “mental breakdown” on the show.

Now, I already touched on the possibility that the CSAC was jerking K1 around. First they deny Hong Man Choi because he’s a giant, and now they deny Gabe Ruediger because he’s a crybaby. That’s like denying Frank Trigg because he’s a retard or me for having the world’s largest penis. That’s just the way things are. I’d like to deny Armando Garcia from sanctioning on account of him being a total wad and a party-pooper, but lets see how far that idea flies.

I dunno, man. This is actually pretty funny. I mean, really. No matter where you are right now, just say this sentence out loud:

Gabe “Godzilla” Reudiger was pulled off a fight card for being a crybaby.

If that doesn’t make TUF worthwhile, then what’s the point?

It’s funny, we were talking on the last podcast about there being no ‘consequences’ to being booted off TUF … all the guys end up in the UFC anyways, even those two who brawled in the backyard are now starring at the finale. But when it comes to Gabe, he’s getting the shortest, shittiest end of the stick ever. Booted from the show, dropped from his contract, and barred from fighting in California.

I think Dana took out his Travis Lutter issues on Gabe. Poor bastard.

Those guys deserve this as well. When they end up getting bumped off the card for a Sinosic fight or when NSAC denies them licenses because they actually aren’t worthy of pro status* then I’ll find that just as funny.

The guy has to make a living, no doubt, but nowhere in his nation’s Bill of Rights does it say that it should be by being a punk on national television. CSAC isn’t as entrenched in MMA as the NSAC, and they’re going to judge this sport by what they see in the media. Gabe and the boys from the Bakcyard brawl make a bad impression for the sport and are hopefully going to suffer the consequences.

    * – seriously, wtf is up with the hacks they’re putting on this show?

I dunno, when governing bodies on any level are making arbitrary and unfair decisions on who can or can’t do things, it worries me. On a funny level, it doesn’t get better than this … I mean, Gabe being denied a license for being mentally unfit? That’s fucking hilarious! But when you think of how fucked up it is that the CSAC would ACTUALLY DO THIS, it’s kinda worrisome. California is one of the world’s MMA hot spots. I used to play UFC drinking games where we’d take a shot every time a fighter was from Huntington Beach. The fact that their sanctioning body is being run by complete morons is bad.
