The Happy Hour Episode 72: UFC 126 breakdown

This week Subo and I break down all the fights you can watch on UFC 126, from the KID Facebook fight to SpikeTV right up to that Anderson / Vitor thing. Strikeforce, Jon Fitch, and the success of MMA in 2011 all get brought up as well, amongst other things. One hour of pre-Superbrawl podcastin’

Did you have my beer yet? :p

For the Kid fight on Facebook, White said geoblock will block out the stream in Japan only. That is right, nobody in Japan can stream the Kid fight. It will air on some TV station live instead.

  • Grappo

    ^^ Only the Kid fight?

  • glassjawsh

i’m fairly certain that a large portion of the cerrone hating jackals dislike him solely because subo is latched on his balls

(the cowboy bullshit doesn’t help though)

  • subo

    leti – link plz

  • glassjawsh

    @ subo –
right around the 3 minute mark

  • DJ ThunderElbows

I’m not on Cerrone’s nuts because he had an attitude he didn’t seem to back up the few times I sat through his fights.

Show was ok, but you guys really don’t seem to have any fun or warmth together and it makes this Just Another Podcast.

Maybe spend time together talking on the phone/skype a bit more to develop your rapport?

  • Letibleu

    thanks Glass

  • glassjawsh

@ DJ – but who gets to be the big spoon?

  • subo

I’m unquestionably the big spoon.  And Deej, Ryan and I are buddies, but we do have to wait for the other one to stop talking before we can start, since we’re not looking at each other and shit.  It’s kind of unavoidable, but like the horse in Animal Farm, I will try harder.

  • Rodriguez

    “If that isn’t a 10-8 round then I don’t know what is.”

Subs, you don’t know what the fuck a 10-8 round is.

  • subo

I know that’s what Forrest put on your boy in the third.  OOOOH

  • DJ ThunderElbows

but we do have to wait for the other one to stop talking before we can start

I don’t mean that, necessarily. More like you’re both on the same vibe, so there’s no dynamic?

Or – and this is the more likely option – I just hate podcasts. This was the only one I’ve ever listened to regularly.

  • G Funk

I’ve said before that Subo on the show = BORING unless you’re Count-Blackula. Jake brought in average fan knowledge with jokes and laughter. Ryan/Subo shows are full of serious MMA banter which sucks. I’m not going to listen to this show as I already know what’s to come. Thanks Subo so much for sucking!

    Where’s Jake GODDAMNIT!??!

  • glassjawsh

^ en cuba en su culo de tu madre

  • G Funk

Google translate FAIL! But nice effort.

  • DJ ThunderElbows

And for the record, I don’t hate Subo, nor do I think he’s an un-funny addition to the show. I actually think he’s hilarious and his writing has gotten w-a-a-a-a-ay better.

The overall energy of the show changed; Captain In/tolerance would go nuts about something every six seconds and you were his witty, but beleaguered straight man bringing things back to reality or something. You need a crazy Jackal to offset Subo. Maybe AngryChina? High-hyped?
