The Low Blow Episode 7: The one where Subo drinks pee
2012/01/05 at 6:55 PM

This week on the Low Blow, Ryan and Derek discuss the freshly rumored Ronda Rousey vs Miesha Tate fight, and the Strikeforce card coming up this weekend. There’s also the standard moaning and bitching about existential Strikeforce issues before we roll into UFC 141 and kinda nibble at various topics and matches from that card. Brock Lesnar retiring, Brock Lesnar not being able to take a shot, and Brock Lesnar blah bleh blah bloo blarg. Last but not least Derek talks about having to drink his own urine because Donald Cerrone got Diaz’d. One hour and fifteen minutes o’ podcast fresh from the oven.

So did you “help” Soobo film his urinary journey properly?

  • fightlinker says:

Nope. This all reminds of that scene in Anchorman. “You will eat that cat poo. Eat it! Yes!”

  • iamphoenix says:

    where’s the VIDEEEEOOO

Hey Subo remember our conversation a few years back where you were denying the skills and top ten place of Overeem as a heavyweight.

    Time to eat them words.

  • Letibleu says:

lol @ a few years back. A few years back Overeem sucked donkeyballs.

  • Dove Strangler says:

Overeem has been on a win streak since 2007 and hasn’t fundamentally changed much in terms of skill or size since 2009. What is apparent now was apparent then.

  • fightlinker says:

    a win streak against losers!

  • Letibleu says:

Well, glad to know he has at least one long term nyt hugger, Even Fitch has a few~!

  • glassjawsh says:

I’ve been dangling since he tooled Cro cop. dudes legit regardless of competition faced

  • DJ ThunderElbows says:

Unlike a win streak against winners?

I have to chime in on the Rowdy/RumbleGIF situation:  Is Meisha really from Jersey/Staten Isle or is she just olde timey dumb?  Why disrespect challengers who are marketable and get fans talking when there’s less than a dozen passable (let alone “World Class”) fighters in your class?  Yeah, book a rematch against someone with one interesting finish on their record.  A fucking rematch when there’s an olympic-caliber fighter waiting to fight you and getting fans interested.

    Christ.

Hey Subo. Just wanted to say I’m glad you’re doing the podcast. And Brock is shit so fuck you.

  • subo says:

Dove – Long time no see. Overeem’s doing it against top rated competition now.  Like, if Hector Lombard turns out to be a badass motherfucker, that doesn’t mean doubting him now is dumb.  Overeem’s also gotten better at being big over the last three years.

  • Blackula Jonez says:

People really want to see Tate get embarrased/out mma’d by Kaufman again?

Kaufman vs Rousey is a more interesting fight anyway. Nice to see you back Derek and thanks for the show Ryan.

  • OlyReigns says:

I would watch Rousey versus anyone, men included. My dick gets hard for anyone that jumps on submissions like that. I cant wait to see her break Cyborg’s arm. Women’s mma needs real female champs. Someone needs to check under Cybog’s shorts. I am guessing she has a case of the clit/dick.

  • CAP says:

Sorry soobs that only shows you are shyit at evaluating talent, which was obvious. You keep crapping on legit guys just because they aren’t in the almighty ufc and then disregard guys in the ufc like Lesnar and his huge skillset gap but screaming he’s the best eva. Any competent MMA fan knew Reem was a high end heavyweight. Quit hating.

So glad you have a say in rankings. What a joke.

I haven’t gotten to the Lesnar/Reem fight breakdown on the podcast yet so maybe you acknowledge Brock was way overhyped and you were wrong about Reem but I’m not counting on it.

  • agentsmith says:

FYI, Jens Pulver won exactly one fight straight at featherweight before meeting Faber, not seven.

  • Symbul says:

You need to put a shock collar on Subo to correct him every time he talks about Strikeforce. He’d sound twice as unretarded if he’d just not open his mouth on that subject.

Wanted to comment on finishes (not) being released, and I believe this is the PPV model at work. Other sports aren’t on PPV every other goddamn weekend. If people can just tune in for the good stuff on ESPN anytime the following day, they give people an easy out from shelling out that ~$50, especially for the good-but-not-great PPVs.

  • kvelertak says:

“Did you see him singing the rap country? When he started rapping along to the country song I was like ‘ what the hell is this guy doing?’ I almost saw his lip quivering as he was walking into the cage. He just looked like he was playing a role. He was kind of believing his own hype that people were putting in his ear. I saw true confidence out of Overeem and a true fighter,”

“I think he brought a whole new audience to the sport. So I can’t exactly say it’s a negative. People really need to see who the true fighters are. Lesnar’s not the best in the world. He just got the right matchups and the right fights,”
