When the closest odds on a card are from the Kimbo Slice / Ken Shamrock bout, you know you’re in for a night of seriously lopsided fights. Okay, that’s not exactly true … Benji Radach (+175) vs Murilo Rua (-220) have the most competitive odds. But Slice/Shamrock is second, and the rest are just thigh slap funny. Here’s the odds from BetUS, in order from the ‘close’ odds to the galaxies apart odds:
Benji Radach (+175) vs Murilo Rua (-220)
Ken Shamrock (+250) vs Kimbo Slice (-350)
Roy Nelson (+350) vs (Andrei Arlovski (-500)
Paul Daley (+450) vs Jake Shields (-600)
Kelly Kobald (+450) vs Gina Carano (-600)
Yoko Takahashi (+450) vs Cristiane Santos (-600)
In EliteXC’s defence, Affliction’s last card had some pretty big mismatched (including one -1000 to +650 match). But if you added up the spreads between all the fights, I don’t think there’s ever been an event that has been so lopsided from top to bottom.
