The UFC is back to it’s old viral video tricks, releasing videos via unofficial accounts pimping this Saturday’s UFC 152 event. Two more clips after the jump.
I really hope they got permission to use those video clips. Well, actually I don’t.
Raizor brings up a good question. How do they have the right to rip off all these shows and movie clips?
I also don’t care.. but wonder if they just do it and think no one will come after them.
the snatch one is kinda lame, I like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XorPhiPhrd8
They can use the copyrighted material if they use a fake account.
They should pay this forward by having youtube at least 10 accounts that have ufc footage in their mma highlights.
I think they might be covered under parody laws, so I doubt there is any chance of a lawsuit, but youtube can definitely take the videos down, which makes the fake accounts make even more sense.
It is always nice to see how Zuffa can play the game on both sides of the field when it comes to these copyright laws. First Dana White goes on a media rampage and swores to rail a new one to anyone who tries to dabble with Zuffa product. Then he goes out to buy some masks, walks into marketing, throws a bunch of Guy Fawkes on the table, puts on a Nixon one and says “Let`s do this shit!”. Apparently you can steal from the others if you become anonymous yourself.
