UFC 163: So far, so good

UFC 163: So far, so good

If you don’t want UFC 163 to go the way of Winnipeg, it might be time to bring out your sacrificial goats and chickens.  Out of superstition, it’s best we not even mention the main event so let’s just give thanks for this recently added fight: Brazil is reporting (and no one is yet denying) a verbal agreement between Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis and Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida.  Sensei Seagal Machida-San by crane kick!  A look at the rest of the card so far:

Jose Aldo vs. Anthony Pettis (FW Title)

Lyoto Machida vs. Phil Davis

Josh Koscheck vs. Demian Maia

Thales Leites vs. Tom Watson

Vinny Magalhaes vs. Anthony Perosh

Cezar Ferreira vs. Clint Hester

Neil Magny vs. Sergio Moraes

The obvious question is what will be in store for WW and LHW divisions and the winners of Machida/Davis and Koscheck/Maia.  If Mr. Wonderful happens to prevail against Machida, does he deserve a shot against the winner of Jones/Gustafsson?  Stranger things have happened.  And Maia is in very good position to get a chance at GSP.  It’s a good guess he’ll walk through Kos and be one verrry interesting match-up away from a title shot.

I wouldn’t exactly refer to this card as “good.”

Hey, not to pull a Shael, but that’s as good as it gets when you have to fill up half the card with Brazilians.
