Just two articles above a story regarding The Ultimate Fighter’s tanking ratings, MMAWeekly’s Jeff Cain slurps some cock with the following statement:
Ultimate Fighter 5 has been touted by some as the best season of the reality show to date, but from the looks of it Ultimate Fighter 6 will give it a run for its money. The filming hasn’t even begun and drama is already surrounding the next season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’
I dunno where Jeff has heard that it’s the best. As far as I can tell it’s perhaps the WORST season ever, and that’s impressive considering what a total snooze fest the fourth season was. But at least I hated season 4 … even though I didn’t like it, I still watched it and cared about it. This season’s biggest enemy is apathy. I see Spike TV trying to sell the drama and scuffles and honestly I couldn’t care less. And I couldn’t care less about Hughes and Serra being on season 6. The only thing I care about is how it fucks up the welterweight division (no title shots until the coaches face off after the season ends – 5 years from now).
Another ghastly little detail from this asslicking article:
Former UFC welterweight contender, former MMAWeekly Radio co-host, and broadcaster Frank Trigg extended the offer to be Serra’s wrestling coach against his nemesis Matt Hughes, just to make things more interesting leading up to the filming of Ultimate Fighter 6.
What. The. Fuck. People don’t like Frank Trigg. They don’t. They don’t like him as a fighter. They don’t like him as a color commentator. They do like watching him get beaten up, but we’ve got enough footage of that to go around already. If Frank Trigg and Matt Serra teamed up, I think the cosmos would implode because it couldn’t handle the sheer mass of annoyingness gathered in one place on the planet. If Trigg ends up on the next season, I’m just going to slit my wrists now because halfway through the season I’d end up doing it anyways.
