We’re just over a week away from Carlos Condit vs Georges St Pierre, the consolation fight we’re stuck with because the UFC couldn’t let Nick Diaz get away with skipping out on two press conferences in a row. Hey, you give fighters an inch and next thing you know things get all Scott Coker pretty damn fast. I understand that. But it still sucks that we lost out on a sick fight.
Fortunately, Dana White isn’t about to pass up on a bank match-up like this for too long:
Nick Diaz’s press conference phobia issues are resolved, according to UFC president Dana White.
And that means he could get a title shot if he beats BJ Penn at UFC 137. White’s answer was a flat “yeah” when asked if he would feel confident putting Diaz forward a second time for a fight with Georges St. Pierre.
“I don’t see that happening again. He knows, we’ve talked. Seriously, I would be shocked if he didn’t show up at another press conference and if he does, I don’t even know what to say. I guess that would be the end of it,” White says.
This time I’m going to kick that football! There’s no way Lucy is gonna pull it out from under me again. She wouldn’t. She couldn’t! I’d be shocked if she did. No way!
