Who knew 3 hours of Chael Sonnen talking could be so entertaining?

Chael Sonnen was on the Joe Rogan podcast to promote his new book and it’s 3 hours of interesting conversation across an endless list of topics – the standard Joe Rogan Experience. Some transcribed excerpts across the web: his thoughts on how safe fighting Anderson Silva in Brazil would have been (not very), and how he took his career to the next level (hypnosis – fo reals).

This is Normal Chael, not crazy pro wrasslin Chael, which may or may not make it more appealing to you. And if you’re still on the fence about picking up his book, there’s an excerpt on UFC.com to help you make up your mind.

I’m only 10 minutes in, but already Chael is talking about when athletes (in other sports) get busted for steroids and then rat out other guys (like Jose Canseco), and how they should just “take their medicine” and shut up.  I guess that philosophy doesn’t apply to real estate fraud.  I expect Joe won’t question Chael on his own highly questionable TRT use either.

Joe does take him to task and Chael talks his way out of it very convincingly.
You don’t run for high political office unless you are skilled in the art of rhetoric.
I will admit this episode was very easy to listen too…as opposed to Mr. Fox Magic, who is interesting in his own way but it does get difficult separating the valuable info from the boy who cried DOOMSDAY stuff.

I have to wait for the weekend to watch this, if i have fucking time. I like some of rogan’s pod casts (when he has someone different on, not the same douchebags over & over again). I fully enjoyed the Kevin Smith one.

Good podcast – Chael is pretty likable when he’s not doing shtick. Also, Joey Diaz is amazing.

^ joey diaz is incredibley annoying, i can only listen to a couple minutes of him before i wanna slam me head into the screen (the same reation i get from reading your shit)

Hmm, I may give this a listen to later, I had to give up the JRE after I just got too sick of Redban

  • subo

Diaz has hilarious stories and actual knowledge about the drug underground/subculture.  Redban has gotten much, much quieter as of late (mercifully)

I wouldn’t know I’m too traumatized from the ear raping his voice gives me. redban i agree

Michael Ruppert?  Yeah, I got into the JRE show about 60 episodes back, and the newest one with him is probably the first episode I’ll skip.  Last time he was on was just ridiculous conspiracy bullshit from start to finish.  My fav bit was how he repeatedly claimed to know the inner workings of the intelligence agencies because his parents were agents or some shit… as if that means he automatically knows everything they did, even if that’s true to begin with.  Then the “fox magic” shit pretty much confirmed that he’s just looney tunes.  Even Eddie Bravo is getting pretty repetitive on there, with the same 9-11 conspiracy stuff every time.

    hahah, even!
