Who’s at fault: Jason or Steve?

There’s some debate going on as to the validity of my ‘Jason MacDonald is a late-punching smack-talking punk ass’ post. Word from Jay-Mac himself is that Ste-Maz (also known as Steve Mazzagatti to you non-hipsters) told him to keep going, which is a bit strange because you can clearly see him step in and wave the fight off. If he actually said “Keep going” after that, then he’s a freaking moron, and I’ll happily downgrade Jason from mega-douche to semi-douche – sorry, but talking trash about a guy you just beat is still lame. Not enough to revoke your Canadian citizenship card, but close.

It looks like Pornstache made a bad call. His initial stopping of the fight was half ass then after Macdonald hit Joe a couple more times did he fully commit to the stoppage.

Look at Maz’s face when Jason starts throwing shots again… he’s still checking Joe for signs of life. If he hadn’t wanted the fight to continue, he would have stepped in between them.

I thought Jason was a mega-douche before the fight so nothing has changed. Obviously the beating handed down was molestache’s fault…

That was a weird situation — I guess it just goes to show that refs need to stay decisive when they step in to stop it.

I wonder what Jason was yelling right after he stood up…

I don’t intend to be a prick; I’m genuinely wondering: isn’t it called “Whose fault?” instead of “Who’s fault?”?

I guess isn’t the place to go to learn proper English. Maybe things’ll look better ‘tommorow’.

  • fightlinker

tommorow is one of those words I’ll never spell right. I’d love to claim that’s the canadian spelling, but I’m just a dipstick and the wrong spelling has just been seared into my brain over years and years.

I did fix the title though … that was pretty damn rough english

  • Swedish guy

As I said: I wasn’t trying to make you feel ashamed and I couldn’t care less about how the title is spelled, I was just eager to learn. Every day is a valuable lesson!

Jason is one of those guys I will always want to see lose because he is a major asshole when he wins and I fuckin hate guys like that. He gloated and made fun of Leben after choking him unconcious because dumbass Leben forgot to tap. Even asshole Matt Hughes frowns upon such behavior.

  • Echolocating

That was weird. I won’t fault Jason for the late blows though. Mazzagatti seemed to indicate to the crowd that the fight was over, but not clearly to Jason. Even just after watching the video, I’m still not entirely sure what happened there.

I wonder what Mazzagatti has to say.

As far as Macdonald’s trash talking goes…

    >> “The last time I beat Joe, he was a bit of
    >> a sore loser, with tons of excuses, so this
    >> time I wanted to come out strong.”

…that’s Canadian trash talking at it’s best. ;-)

This wasn’t the first time, and it sure as hell won’t be the last time we see a ref not being fully committed to a stoppage. How hard can it be to understand that there is no middle way, either you stop the fight or you let it go on.

Was it Herb Dean who interrupted a fighter as he was about to fully extend an armbar on his opponent? I’ve never been closer to throwing a bottle on my screen before.

Steve messed up & amitted his fault to Jason. Steve atleast had the guts to admit he messed up. That’s my boy! Now grow back the hair & you’ll be pimping :D

    He’s no Starnes.
