Yeeaaaah …. it was totally the Ultimate Fighting

Another story being framed around that evil Ultimate Fighting shit. It seems no one can turn on an MMA broadcast without falling out a window to their death, starting a fight club, or assaulting loved ones. It’s practically Ringu or the Signal around here! So let’s look at the latest example of MMA driving people insane:

An argument about an Ultimate Fighting Championship TV program turned violent Thursday in Galena, according to police.

Galena police responded to a home in the western Alaska village of about 600 people just after midnight Thursday to investigate a report of domestic violence.

David Gray Huntington, 21, of Galena, is accused of “becoming violent” with his 19-year-old brother and his brother’s girlfriend after they began arguing while watching UFC on television. Huntington was intoxicated at the time, according to Galena police.

Galena Police Chief John Millan said he was unsure what exactly caused the brothers to argue, but the two might have been rooting for opposing fighters.

Wow. That really does sound like Ultimate Fighting was responsible, huh. I can totally see rooting for opposing fighters being the cause of this fracas. Oh wait:

When police arrived at the home, Huntington allegedly elbowed, kicked, head-butted, spit and tried to bite officers. Police reportedly had to use pepper spray to take him into custody.

Huntington was still too intoxicated to be arraigned later Thursday morning and had to be taken to Fairbanks for a hearing. He has been charged with one count of third-degree felony assault, three counts of misdemeanor fourth-degree assault, two counts of resisting arrest and one count of criminal mischief.

Huntington was twice previously been convicted of assaulting family members, according to court records.

Guess those cops were also rooting for the wrong fighter too, huh? And check out that little bit at the end where the guy doing the assaulting was STILL TOO DRUNK to be arraigned the next morning, and that he has a long history of beating the shit out of his family. But hey, how often do you get to write a fun headline like “Galena Brothers Brawl Over Ultimate Fighting”? That’s witty! Although I think “Alcoholic Family Beater Tries to Take Bite Out of Cops” has it’s own appeal, personally.
